Russian by nationality, Gazi speaks fluent English, excellent Arabic, native Russian and basic Bahasa Melayu. He supports Shariyah Review Bureau’s (SRB) advanced Sharia supervisory review and audit for the banking sector. Under his current role he serves clients in a cluster of related segments that includes retail, corporate and wholesale banking. Gazi brings expertise in large-scale Sharia audit planning, as well as experience in the implementation and delivery of Sharia audit programs with a focus on growth and development by means of strong internal Sharia controls for the Islamic banks he serves.

He completed his Executive Professional Masters in Islamic Finance from the General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions, Bahrain. And acquired his Chartered Islamic Finance Professional qualification from the Global University in Islamic Finance (INCEIF), Malaysia with specialization in Islamic Capital Market, Shariah Audit and Wealth planning. Being awarded full scholarship from the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Gazi achieved his Associate’s Degree in Arabic Language and Bachelor’s in Hadith and Islamic Studies from the world renown Islamic University of Al-Medina.

Prior to joining SRB, Gazi gained experience at Standard Chartered Saadiq Berhad (Malaysia) working in the fields of Sharia Advisory administration, support and secretarial compliance.
