He draws his major experience in law from his previous position as a Committees Affairs Coordinator Specialist between the Legislative & Executive authority of Kingdom of Bahrain acting as the primary channel of communication at Ministry of Shura Council & Representative Council Affairs (Legislative authority) his role was to assist, revise and represent their decision & approval programs while arranging for ongoing meetings between the two authorities; documenting records, tracking recommendations made and overseeing concerns. As a Sharia Review & Audit Manager he oversees the Sharia compliance affairs of more than 30% of the Financing Companies licensed by Saudi Central Bank (SAMA). Apart from managing all Sharia related queries, audit tasks & assignments, he works as an internal resource with clients’ for product queries and certification or related structuring issues and directing it to appropriate scholarly existing channels for investigation and resolution.
Saleh Ahmed Al-Mahmood is part of the leadership team for the Sharia Review and Consultation practice, currently managing the International Asset Management sector.
Joining Shariyah Review Bureau in 2016, he has been working with Sharia scholars along all steps of the value chain involved in the Sharia certification process, with a strong focus on new Islamic product development and structuring topics. In his position as Sharia Review and Audit Manager, he leads large-scale asset management projects at both the review and Sharia audit levels for clients worldwide.
Saleh supervises and audits clients in the international asset management sector across various regions around the globe. His functional expertise centers around review, structuring, and product development. While traditional consultancy remains important to him, Saleh increasingly helps asset management firms navigate new product design challenges from a Sharia perspective.
He completed his BS in Usul-aldeen & Comparative Religion from International Islamic University Malaysia and also attained his Certified Sharia Adviser and Auditor (CSAA) from AAOIFI, and advance diploma in Islamic commercial jurisprudence(ADICJ) from BIBF .
Omar supervises clients in various fintech segments, including digital banking, payment solutions, and financial technology innovations.
He manages the compliance of fintech companies across multiple regions, examining their products, Islamic financial governance and Sharia controls in light of Sharia criteria. In his position, he also plays a considerable role in solving the toughest non-compliance problems faced by fintech companies in light of Sharia precepts. His Sharia audit programs deliver insights that diagnose clients’ Sharia non-compliance trajectories and inform reporting lines of non-congruent practices and how to manage them.
Prior to joining Shariyah Review Bureau in 2019, he interned at Al Salam Bank, focusing primarily on Islamic banking product reviews and supervision. Within the retail banking space at Al Salam Bank, Omar honed his expertise in property financing, Wakala saving scheme, among other verticals.
Omar earned an MBA in Comparative Jurisprudence and Law, obtaining First Class honors from Higher Judicial Institute – Al-Imam Mohammed Bin Saud Islamic University. He also earned an Executive MBA in Islamic Finance from Golden Trust Training Institute (CIBAFI).
Ammar Al Abbasi is the Sharia Review and Audit Manager responsible for the Islamic banking division of Shariyah Review Bureau. Under his current role he serves clients in a cluster of related segments that includes retail, corporate and wholesale banking. Ammar brings expertise in large-scale Shari’a audit planning so as to help clients fully realize their goals and Sharia compliance strategy. His expertise also includes Sharia governance, Sharia controls, banking products, and investment transactions. He also has significant experience working with private equity funds and financing portfolios.
He previously worked at Kaaf Humanitarian Society as the Head of Orphanage responsible for managing more than 10,000 orphans’ sponsorships around the world. He received an MBA in Islamic jurisprudence and its principles with distinction from the University of Sharjah, and his thesis was on the topic “Impact of Maqasid Al-Sharia in the Interpretation of Sacred texts.”
Abdulla is the Acting Sharia Review & Auditor for the Insurance Division at Shariyah Review Bureau’s Islamic Insurance practice. Since joining us in 2021, he has focused on providing Sharia assurance to clients worldwide, including those in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Qatar. Abdulla has acquired extensive experience in takaful and cooperative insurance topics across life insurance, property, and healthcare businesses.
He has been working with Sharia scholars along all steps of the value chain involved in the Sharia certification process, with a strong focus on new Islamic product development and structuring topics for Cooperative Insurance & Takaful. In his current position as Sharia Review and Audit Manager, he leads large-scale insurance projects at both the review and Sharia audit levels for our cooperative insurance and takaful clients. Outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdulla supervises and audits clients from the insurance and takaful sectors globally.
In some of his projects, Abdulla has also helped KSA-based cooperative insurance firms ensure their investments, operations, policies, and business models comply with critical Sharia compliance issues.
Abdulla joined SRB directly upon completing his B.Sc. in Islamic Banking and Finance from the University of Bahrain. He is also in the process of completing the IFQ and Certified Shari’a Adviser and Auditor qualification (CSAA – AAOIFI). He is an enthusiast of transformations using digital solutions for insurance companies.
Othman holds B.Sc. in Islamic Banking and Finance from University of Bahrain and is also a Certified Shari’a Adviser and Auditor (AAOIFI). His audit spans from startups to large financing companies regulated in KSA, Dubai, Kazakhstan and New Zealand. Recently, Othman’s work has focused on helping review financing products, investments and operating model in light of Sharia.
Othman is also passionate about developing strategies and assurance programs to deliver quality Sharia audit solutions and being a catalyst for a more sustainable Sharia compliance system. Prior to joining SRB, Othman worked as an intern associate in AlQoud Enterprise.

Shaikh Salah is a Sharia scholar who procured his PhD from Edinburgh University (UK) and Masters from Al Imam University (KSA). He has led a broad range of engagements in the US, Europe, and the GCC, focusing on banking and investment products, real-estate acquisitions, Islamic, Insurance management, listed securities, and private equity fund. His product based experience spans sukuks, home mortgages, leasing, SME Financing and asset management transactions.
He is currently a faculty member at the Saudi Electronic University, Riyadh. Before that, he was a faculty member and director of the Islamic Banking and Finance Center at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran. He wrote many research and articles related to the Islamic banking sector that were published in many newspapers, most notably Al-Eqtisadiah
Sheikh Danahunov is a Shari’a scholar from Kazakhstan and he studied Arabic and Islamic law min Islamic University in Medina, KSA. Also, he participated in several conferences and seminars such as international conference of private Islamic NGOs, international Islamic conference of Islamic media, Seminars in the field of NGO governance. Sheikh Danahunov can speak five languages, Uyghur, Kazakh, Russian, Arabic, Uzbek and Turkish.
Since joining SRB in 2015, Abdullah has focused on helping support Shariyah Review Bureau’s audit services in the investment, asset management services and banking industry. Shoaib works with Sharia audit team assisting in supervising several significant Sharia audit co-sourcing and outsourcing relationships with Islamic Banks in Bahrain. Prior to joining the Sharia audit practice, Shoaib spent two years in researching and developing new market trends with a focus on the global debt market and equity sector. Highlights of Shoaib’s research experience includes IDB’s companywide investments and mapping wealthiest European and Asian managers.
Between earning his Financial and Accounting program at the FTMS College, Malaysia, Shoaib took to the skies of England to obtain a European commercial airline pilot EASA license from Atlantic Flight Training. His passion for flying and deep interest in planes has also made him a thought leader at SRB in key topics such as business aviation, travel markets and plane-logistics services. To live the dream, Shoaib takes to the skies frequently at Airways Aviation.
Saleh Alzoman is a Sharia Auditor specializing in the Fintech sector at Shariyah Review Bureau.
In his role, Saleh conducts Sharia audits for Islamic banks and fintech companies, ensuring compliance with Sharia principles in financial products and services. He evaluates and reviews the structure and development of new Islamic financial products, applying rigorous Sharia standards. Saleh collaborates closely with stakeholders to navigate regulatory and compliance challenges in the dynamic fintech landscape.
Saleh earned his Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies from the University of Bahrain and an advanced diploma in Islamic Commercial Jurisprudence from the BIBF. Joining Shariyah Review Bureau in 2024, he brings a commitment to upholding Sharia compliance while facilitating innovative solutions within the fintech industry.
Hashim Munir heads the Business development & Marketing activities for Shariyah Review Bureau. His prime focus is to support Islamic Banks, Takaful Operators, Asset Management and Fin-techs who seek various Shariah services from Shariah Board, Product Certification to IPO Screening, External & Internal Shariah Audit services.
Prior to taking over a new and challenging role at SRB, he worked in the capacity of Commercial Manager, holding other senior management roles with-in the FMCG & Halal Food sector. He brings with him insight from the second biggest contributing component after Islamic finance to the Islamic economy. At SRB, he is involved in strengthening relationships with the Islamic Financial institutions as well as assessing new Islamic financial markets and arenas the firm can enter; he also has a special interest in the budding Crypto and Fintech sector which carries an overlap of immense potential.
Hashim is a Computer Science graduate and completed his MBA in International Business & Market Operations from University of East London, UK. Inspired by a book “An introduction to Islamic Finance” by Mufti Taqi Usmani he set forth to achieve a Master’s program in Islamic Banking & Finance from Pebbles Hill University, UK.
As Business Development Manager, Hadil Murad leads SRB’s Islamic expansion growth plans and is recognized for her expertise in tapping new strategies and venues within the organization. Hadil joined SRB, after graduating from King Abdul Aziz University, Jeddah. She earned her degree in Public Administration with distinction and earned several Certificates for her marketing achievements.
Prior to joining SRB, Hadil worked at Faisal Islamic Bank managing the activities of the Ladies Branch in Jeddah and Saudi British Bank (HSBC) where she administered the customer care services. Active in Takaful and investment business affairs, she has played an active role in expanding SRB’s business to the wider Islamic financial community especially in the Cooperative Insurance sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Hadil has contributed to a number of change management implementation and has been an active campaign leader in the business development initiatives at SRB.
Muhammad Tariq used to head the firm’s Shari’a equities screening and IPO evaluation practice for the Middle East. He now serves as the Financial Officer and the Compliance Manager in the firm’s office in Bahrain managing all financial programs, fiscal accounts and KYC/AML related functions. He leads projects on topics including compliance, non-financial risk management, governance, and control systems. He continues to develop, design and implement compliance operating models for SRB’s certification and Sharia audit programs across all lines of business including banking, insurance, fintech and asset management in order to ensure SRB continues to meet Central Bank of Bahrain and applicable international regulatory requirements and industry standards; reporting of compliance and anti-money laundering risks and enhancement of compliance training frameworks.
He holds an International Diploma in Governance Risk and Compliance, BSc. in Business Administration from University of Bahrain, currently pursuing MBA Finance from University of Bahrain. He has also gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Islamic Finance from CIMA Tariq also dedicates time to social initiatives and acts as an adviser for non-profit organization and social activities.
Faraz is a Bahrain-based Sharia screening and account officer. Since joining SRB, he has led a broad range of engagements including supervising accounting records, cash-flow control strategies, invoicing management, operational improvement, financial reporting design and strategy. He continues to work closely with the Sharia audit team to help assist in payment and income controls, engagement processes and regulatory stakeholders. Under the leadership of the Screening supervisor, Faraz also audits the practice of analyzing listed and private equities in light of Sharia. His sector screening experience spans corporate banking, investment banking, cooperative insurance, telecommunications, energy, real estate and agricultural investments.
Outside of his financial work, Faraz is actively involved in local social impact initiatives and is the Vice President for Toastmaster Club in Bahrain. In the club he pursues his mission of inspiring youngsters to become confident public speakers and strong leaders of their local communities. He has a B.Sc. in Banking and Finance from University of Bahrain. Prior to joining SRB in 2017, Faraz held an apprenticeship in KPMG.

تدرب الشيخ ساجد كقاضي وأكمل أطروحة حول إدارة السيولة، مع التركيز على عقد إعادة الشراء المعروف (REPO)، وأحكامه والبدائل المسموح بها. بعد ذلك حصل على درجة الدكتوراه في المعهد العالي للقضاء بجامعة الإمام، من خلال إكمال أطروحة تتعلق بالحلول الشرعية في إدارة المخاطر المالية.
لقد ساهم الشيخ ساجد بشكل كبير في تقدم الأكاديمية الإسلامية على مستوى العالم. وقد ألف العديد من المقالات والأطروحات باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية، تتناول مواضيع متنوعة في العلوم الإسلامية. حاليًا، يشغل منصب أستاذ مشارك في الجامعة الدولية للمعرفة وجامعة الإسلامية في مينيسوتا.
محمد إبراهيم عيسى هو عالم شريعة مرموق في مجال المصرفية الإسلامية والتكافل. أكمل دراسته في الدرس نظامي (ماجستير في القرآن والسنة) وتخصص في الإفتاء من جامعة دار العلوم كراتشي. يشغل حاليًا منصب معلم وعضو في دار الإفتاء بجامعة دار العلوم كراتشي. المفتي إبراهيم عيسى هو أيضًا رئيس مجلس الشريعة في بنك زراعي ترقياتي المحدود وعضو مجلس الشريعة في بنك حبيب متروبوليتان المحدود وبنك كابول.
وقد ارتبط بشركة إرنست آند يونغ فورد رايدس سيدات هيدر وشركاه كمستشار شرعي من 2007 إلى 2015. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، يشغل منصب المستشار الشرعي للعديد من المؤسسات المالية الإسلامية، سواء على الصعيد الوطني أو الدولي، بما في ذلك “إكويتيبل فاينانشال سولوشنز” (أستراليا)، و”EFU للحياة التأمينية” و”EFU للتأمين العام”. لقد ألف المفتي إبراهيم أكثر من أربعة آلاف فتوى في مواضيع متنوعة.
الشيخ إرشاد أكمل تخصصه في الإفتاء وحصل على درجة الدكتوراه من جامعة دار العلوم، أحد المعاهد الرائدة لعالم المفتي محمد تقي العثماني. وهو أيضًا مرشح للحصول على درجة الماجستير في الفقه الإسلامي والتمويل. بالإضافة إلى كونه عضوًا في منتدى المستشارين الشرعيين الذي أنشأه بنك الدولة الباكستاني لتطوير وتنفيذ المعايير الشرعية للمؤسسات المالية الإسلامية، يقود فريق العمل الخاص بالبدائل الإسلامية للتمويل الزراعي ولجنة مراجعة معايير الشريعة لأيوفي حول المضاربة.
كما أنه عضو هيئة تدريس زائر في جامعة إكرا، والمعهد الوطني للتمويل والمصرفية (تابع لبنك الدولة الباكستاني)، ومركز الاقتصاد الإسلامي، ومركز الشيخ زايد الإسلامي.
الدكتور المغربي كان أستاذًا سابقًا للاقتصاد الإسلامي في جامعة الملك عبد العزيز بجدة، المملكة العربية السعودية، ومديرًا سابقًا لمركز البحوث في الاقتصاد الإسلامي في نفس الجامعة. وهو خبير في أكاديمية الفقه الإسلامي التابعة لمنظمة التعاون الإسلامي وأكاديمية الفقه الإسلامي التابعة لرابطة العالم الإسلامي وعضو في مجلس الشريعة في AAOFI. الدكتور المغربي عضو في هيئة التحرير لعدة منشورات أكاديمية في مجال التمويل الإسلامي والفقه، بما في ذلك مجلة أكاديمية الفقه (لرابطة العالم الإسلامي)، ومجلة الدراسات الاقتصادية الإسلامية (البنك الإسلامي للتنمية)، ومجلة الاقتصاد الإسلامي (IAIE، لندن)، والمجلس الاستشاري لسلسلة هارفارد في القانون الإسلامي، كلية الحقوق بجامعة هارفارد. كما أنه عضو في العديد من مجالس الشريعة للبنوك الإسلامية وشركات التكافل في جميع أنحاء العالم. وقد ألّف الدكتور المغربي العديد من الكتب في التمويل الإسلامي ونشر عشرات المقالات في هذا الموضوع باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية.
الشيخ الدكتور أحمد يعمل أستاذًا مشاركًا في الاقتصاد الإسلامي في قسم الشريعة والدراسات الإسلامية بكلية الآداب في جامعة الملك عبد العزيز بجدة. حصل على درجة الدكتوراه في الاقتصاد الإسلامي من جامعة أم القرى بمكة. قبل انضمامه إلى جامعة الملك عبد العزيز، عمل كمساعد تدريس في كلية المعلمين بأبها. يشارك الدكتور أحمد في العديد من الدورات التدريبية والمؤتمرات في مجال التمويل الإسلامي، وقد أشرف على العديد من الرسائل الجامعية لطلاب الدراسات العليا في جامعة الملك عبد العزيز.
حصل على درجة البكالوريوس في الشريعة من جامعة الإمام محمد بن سعود الإسلامية مع مرتبة الشرف. بعد ذلك، أكمل درجة الماجستير من جامعة الملك فيصل، وتخرج أيضاً مع مرتبة الشرف في الفقه المقارن. كانت أطروحته بعنوان “دراسة مقارنة حول مسائل القياس وفقاً للحنابلة”.

He received his Bachelor’s degree in Sharia from Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University with honors. Following this, he completed his Master’s degree from King Faisal University, also graduating with honors in Comparative Jurisprudence. His thesis was titled “A Comparative Study on the Analogy Issues According to Hanbalis.”
Additionally, he obtained a Professional Master’s degree in Islamic Finance from the General Council of Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, with his thesis focusing on “The Governance of Islamic Financial Institutions.”
Currently, he is pursuing his Ph.D. at King Faisal University and serves as an arbitrator and Islamic expert accredited by the International Islamic Center for Reconciliation and Arbitration in Dubai. He has studied under esteemed scholars and taught the Hanbali school of thought for over five years at the Scientific Institute of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University. In addition, he is an academic collaborator and provides legal consultations for several law firms. His research contributions include numerous papers in Comparative Jurisprudence, as well as a research paper in the field of Islamic finance entitled “Comparison between the IFSB and AAOIFI Standards in Governance.”
Sheikh Gapur is a Shari’a scholar from Ingushetia (Russia) and he got his bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and PhD in Fiqh and Usul Fiqh from International Islamic University Malaysia. He is very active in writing and has contributed significantly through articles, books, and research that are important to the field of Islamic finance, such as “Cryptocurrency from Shariah Perspective” and “Issues in Foreign Exchange Trading from Shari’a Perspective.” Sheikh Gapur can speak six languages: English, Arabic, Russian, Ingush (native), Chechen, and basic Malay.
Sheikh Dr. Ahmed works as an Associate Professor of Islamic Economics in the Department of Sharia and Islamic Studies at the College of Arts at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah. He received his Ph.D. in Islamic Economics from Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah. Prior to joining King Abdulaziz University, he worked as a teaching assistant at the Teachers College in Abha. Dr. Ahmed participates in many training courses and conferences in the field of Islamic Finance and has supervised many theses for graduate students at King Abdulaziz University.
Dr. Elgari was a Former Professor of Islamic Economics at King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Former Director of the Center for Research in Islamic Economics at the same university. He is an expert at the Islamic Jurisprudence Academy of the OIC and the Islamic Jurisprudence Academy of the Islamic World League and a member of the Shari’ah Council of AAOFI. Dr. Elgari is a member of the editorial board of several academic publications in the field of Islamic Finance and Jurisprudence, including the Journal of the Jurisprudence Academy (of the IWL), Journal of Islamic Economic Studies (IDB), Journal of Islamic Economics (IAIE, London), and the advisory board of the Harvard Series in Islamic Law, Harvard Law School. He is also a member of numerous Shariah Boards of Islamic Banks and Takaful Companies worldwide. Dr. Elgari has authored several books in Islamic finance and published tens of articles on the subject in both Arabic and English.
Shaikh Irshad completed his Takhassus in Ifta and obtained a Ph.D. from Jamia Dar-ul-Uloom, a leading institute of the world-renowned Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani. He is also a candidate for an M.Phil. in Islamic Finance & Banking. In addition to being a member of the Shari’ah Advisors Forum formed by the State Bank of Pakistan for developing and implementing Shari’ah Standards for Islamic Financial Institutions, he leads the Task Force for Islamic Alternatives for Agricultural Finance and the Committee for the Review of AAOIFI Shari’ah Standards on Mudarabah.
He is also a visiting faculty member at Iqra University, the National Institute of Banking and Finance (a subsidiary of the State Bank of Pakistan), the Centre for Islamic Economics, and the Sheikh Zayed Islamic Center.
Sheikh Sajid Ahmed Umar commenced his academic journey by first obtaining a degree in Information Technology, during which he successfully established an IT business. Concurrently, he was a dedicated student at a Qur’an academy until the age of 18. His academic focus then transitioned towards Islamic Studies, culminating in a 3-year University Diploma in Arabic Language and Islamic Sciences from Imām Muhammed bin Saud Islamic University. He subsequently earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sharī’ah, followed by a Master’s degree in Judiciary (Qadha) with honors from the Higher Institute for Judiciary Studies (Ma’had al-’āli li’l-Qa’dhā).
Sheikh Sajid trained as a judge and completed a thesis on Liquidity Management, concentrating on the well-known Repurchase Agreement (REPO) contract, its rulings, and permissible alternatives. He later achieved his Ph.D. at the Higher Institute of Judiciary at Al-Imam University, finalizing a thesis related to Shariah solutions in Financial Risk Management.
Sheikh Sajid has significantly contributed to the advancement of Islamic academia on a global scale. He has authored numerous articles and dissertations in both Arabic and English, addressing various Islamic Sciences. Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor at Knowledge International University and the Islamic University of Minnesota.
Faizal Dhada is an accomplished English law graduate and AAOIFI certified Shari’ah scholar, holding a Master’s degree in Islamic Banking and Finance along with a degree in Business and Management. He has successfully completed an Iftā course, enabling him to issue Fatwa (legal edicts) on various aspects of Shari’ah. His multidisciplinary background encompasses law, Islamic banking and finance, Shari’ah, and Arabic.
Faizal’s primary passion lies in the intersection of Islamic finance and the legal sector, where he combines his expertise to effectively address client needs. With several years of experience in the Islamic finance sector, he has actively participated in numerous conferences, networking with industry specialists, and exchanging valuable insights. He has authored several research papers addressing significant issues in Islamic finance and common law, including “Wa’d Iltizāmi – A Contractual Promise?”, “A Legal Analysis of the Compatibility between Waqf and the English Trust,” and “A Legal & Fiqhī Analysis of Beneficial Ownership in Sukūk Al-Ijārah Structures.”
Faizal aims to make a unique contribution to the development of the Islamic finance industry by integrating traditional Shari’ah principles with English law. Currently, he serves as a transactional lawyer at an international law firm headquartered in London, while also providing Shari’ah-compliant investment consultancy services.
Mufti Faraz Adam has dedicated nearly a decade to the rigorous study of Islamic law. He completed a comprehensive six-year Alimiyyah program in the UK, after which he pursued the Iftaa course in South Africa.
Mufti Faraz holds a Master’s Degree in Islamic Finance, Banking, and Management from Newman University, UK, obtained in 2017. Additionally, he has achieved various industry qualifications in Islamic Finance. He has been actively involved in Shariah advisory for several years, contributing over 5,000 responses, with a significant focus on Islamic finance. In 2016, he joined the National Zakat Foundation in the UK, where he currently serves as a full-time Zakat advisor and researcher. In 2017, he launched Amanah Finance Consultancy as a Shariah consultancy platform. Mufti Faraz Adam presently serves as a Shariah advisor to numerous organizations and financial institutions globally.
